MySQL 5.7 and MySQL Document Store

Released late 2015 MySQL 5.7 is the current version of the world's most popular open source database. Among improvements in performance and scalability it brought notable new features, like a JSON datatype and generated columns. In addition MySQL 5.7.12 added a new Document Store feature for MySQL, enabling an entirely new category of use cases for managing data.
