Johannes Schlüter Johannes Schlüter de Lead Developer at Oracle

Video

Released late 2015 MySQL 5.7 is the current version of the world's most popular open source database. Among improvements in performance and scalability it brought notable new features, like a JSON datatype and generated columns. In addition MySQL 5.7.12 added a new Document Store feature for MySQL, enabling an entirely new category of use cases for managing data. The Document Store functionality expands on that with a Server plugin, a new API and a suite of new components designed to make MySQL accessible for users who are not familiar with the SQL language or prefer a schemaless data store. In this session you can learn how to make use of these new features for current and future applications.
